One of the highlights of my literary journey was to thank this literary great, Miss Nikki Giovanni, for inspiring me to write, unapologetically. I had the honor to meet her on two occasions: the first was in college and I was telling her backstage that I wanted to be a writer and the last was at the SBL'23 conference where she was the keynote speaker and I was a speaker - I was able to share that I became a writer. She was so kind to take a picture with me with me and my latest book.

As a high school teacher, I have had the privilege of working across 8 Houston area high school campuses for over 16 years. In the past three years, I’ve also enjoyed working with students through my Miss Lit for Life Lessons book on college campuses such as UCLA and Rice University, via Pre-College Summer Programs.
